Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Program Overview

The Cisco Certified Network Associate – CCNA is an excellent entry point into the advancing world of Cisco®. The CCNA® credential represents a foundational knowledge of networking and Cisco technology. This program is ideal for those who want to advance their IT career with organizational computer networking skills.

Students will prepare for exam certification by completing learning experiences in lectures, along with practical application. Students will review the hardware and application skills to prepare, install, and maintain a Cisco computer networking system by learning introductory Cisco concepts for connecting network devices.

Course Descriptions:

Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices Part 1 (ICND1 – CCENT)

This course will provide Cisco Routing and Switching Fundamentals in which students will learn to plan, configure, and operate simple WAN and switched LAN networks using Cisco products. At the end of this course students will have the skills to successfully install, operate, and troubleshoot a small branch office network utilizing Cisco Switches and Routers, with VLAN switching, and single area OSPE. This course will prepare a candidate to sit for the Cisco Certification ICND1/CCENT, the first exam to Cisco's certification path for Routing and Switching. The lecture series and practical application work will give students an opportunity to use live equipment and simulators, test real-world scenarios, and experience simulated test questions. The lecture series will cover in detail the specific areas of focus for knowledge transfer and practical application of theory.

Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices Part 2 (ICND2 – Routing and Switching)

This course will cover the topics of VLSM, IPv6, Single and Multi-area OSPF, EIGRP protocols, and how to use access control lists (ACL’s) using NAT and DHCP. In addition, a student will learn to work with point-to-point connections and Frame Relay and how to configure and troubleshoot VLAN and interswitch communications.
